The course covers the core competencies of firearm and hunting safety\, hunting ethics and wildlife conservation. All materials are provided. The Hunter Education Classroom Course lasts a maximum of 6 hours of classroom instruction. This time does not include registration\, breaks\, test administration and certification card distribution. DESCRIPTION:This course is designed for novice or young hunters\, ages 9 years and above. The course covers the core competencies of firearm and hunting safety\, hunting ethics and wildlife conservation. All materials are provided. The Hunter Education Classroom Course lasts a maximum of 6 hours of classroom instruction. This time does not include registration\, breaks\, test administration and certification card distribution. Courses are offered across the state year round and are taught by certified volunteer instructors.\n\nThe fee for the course is $25\, which includes $15 TPWD fee plus $10 Range Fee. \n\nPre-registration is required on the TPWD website.\n\nYOU MUST REGISTER WITH TPWD & REGISTER WITH BTO RANGE. \nYou may also contact your local Texas Parks and Wildlife Department office or call TPWD Austin headquarters at 1-800-792-1112\, ext. 4999.\nWhat you need to do:\n\nRegister on the TPWD web site below.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister For March 15th Class\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister and pay for the course with BTO Range\nAttend the entire course.\nTake the written exam and get at least 75% correct to pass.\n\n\nUpon successful completion\, you may receive a temporary card from the instructor. The course covers the core competencies of firearm and hunting safety\, hunting ethics and wildlife conservation. All materials are provided. The Hunter Education Classroom Course lasts a maximum of 6 hours of classroom instruction. This time does not include registration\, breaks\, test administration and certification card distribution. You’ll cover:\n\nTexas laws and regulations regarding handgun carry\nSafe handling practices\nThe shooting qualification course\n\nThe shooting qualification is designed to be approachable.
