The TEKNICAL METHODZ Red Dot Methodz Pistol Course is a two-day training focused on building practical, repeatable performance with a red dot equipped handgun. This course is designed for shooters who already have experience with a pistol and want to better understand how to use a red dot efficiently under realistic conditions.

Students will work through the fundamentals of zeroing, recoil management, and dot tracking, then progress into structured drills and performance-based shooting. Concepts like draw efficiency, visual processing, and target acquisition are broken down into clear, usable steps.

This course is a strong fit for anyone looking to improve consistency, speed, and accountability with a red dot pistol. The curriculum is built around measurable performance, giving students a clear path to improvement rather than guesswork.

Instructor Bio

Joel “Tek” Martinez is the owner and Chief Instructor of TEKNICAL METHODZ Firearms Training. He is a certified instructor, a Modern Samurai Project Endorsed Instructor, and an A-Class USPSA shooter with a strong focus on red dot pistol performance.

Tek brings years of experience developing and delivering structured firearms training programs centered on safety, efficiency, speed, and accuracy. In addition to civilian training, he actively works with law enforcement agencies in Florida, including Orlando Police Department, Florida State Troopers, Florida Highway Patrol SRT, Clermont Sheriff’s Office, and Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

His teaching approach emphasizes practical performance, safe gun handling, and consistent training habits. Students learn how to draw efficiently from a holster, establish a proper grip, acquire the red dot quickly, and deliver accurate shots at varying distances. Courses also incorporate movement, transitions, and decision-making, with an emphasis on accountability and responsible firearm ownership.
