January 28th / Emergency First Aid for Gunshot Wounds / BTO Range, TX

January 28 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

A Community Training Opportunity from BTO Range & Training Center

Emergencies do not give warnings. In a severe bleeding incident, such as a gunshot wound or household incidents, a person can have only minutes before blood loss becomes life-threatening. Having basic medical knowledge in those moments can make a real difference.
As part of our commitment to serving the community, BTO Range & Training Center is offering a First Aid for Gunshot Wounds course at no cost. This course is typically a paid program, but we believe this knowledge should be accessible to the people who live, work, and train in our area.
No prior medical or first aid experience is required.

What This Course Covers

This hands-on class provides practical instruction on:
  • Treating gunshot wounds to the arm, leg, chest, abdomen, head, and neck
  • Controlling severe bleeding and managing shock
  • Placing an injured person in a safe, stable position while waiting for EMS
  • Real-world techniques taught through live instruction and demonstrations
  • Course certification upon completion

Proven Curriculum, Experienced Instruction

This course was developed by Rick Hammesfahr, M.D., former chairman of the Curriculum and Examination Board for the United States Special Operations Command. Under his leadership, the board developed Tactical Medical Emergency protocols that are still in use today.
Instruction is delivered by U.S. LawShield instructors with years of experience treating gunshot wounds, ensuring the material is practical, relevant, and rooted in real-world application.
